Hooking Up Home Surveillance Camera?

Share

I have a Sony CL34F CCTV surveillance camera, and would like to know what else I will need to get it to record to DVD’s. What type of cables, power supply and other accessories might I need to do this?

    Google the brand and model number to see if you can find the instructions for it.
    The voltage and current requirements should be listed somewhere in the documentation.

    Most likely, if it lacks an AC power cord, it operates on 12 to 24V DC,
    but be certain about it before you try to connect it.

    The video output is probably a BNC jack;
    adapters are available to convert to F or RCA.
    One cheap way to run a long cable is to use
    adapters for F connectors
    and a standard RF cable for cable TV.

    The output signal is probably composite video,
    which can be fed into a video input
    on any VCR or TV that has one.
