Help with a surveillance camera for my business?

Share

I own a business that I often need to leave and sometimes fly to other states for business. I need to install a hidden camera so that I can monitor my employees while I am at home or traveling on the road. I would prefer a wireless connection because it seems simpler than a wired connection. But not if this means the wireless device will die because I cant charge it everyday if i’m out of town. Also I do not need recording capabilities I just need to be able to view my store from my laptop/computer when I am not in the building. Any suggestions on what I need?
If I have a hidden camera attached to the ceiling how does it receive power? If it has to be plugged in that would defeat the purpose of being hidden. If it is battery powered how often would it need to be changed? Any other alternatives?

Yes I do agree the first one you need to have a broadband connection first. And as generally, a hidden camera surveillance systems are helpful for a lot of important things. These systems become an integral tool for crime prevention purposes, with the capability to capture the images of suspects. It may not prevent crimes from happening, though it might often serve as a deterrent, but the hidden camera video will serve as strong evidence during court proceedings, if legal action is critical.

You need to have broadband in your shop, more than that you need to have broadband with a fixed URL (web address), most bradband suppliers can do this.

Then you need a network camera, these are (usually) three units a router with a separate camera (AV) input, camera and power supply, these will need hard wiring. These usually come with software for your laptop which includes password protection.

Then when you are away you just direct your web browser to the URL of your shop, enter the password and you’ll see the camera image.

You can do this with a DVR hooked to the internet. simply hook your security camera (or wireless camera receiver) to the DVR. Not only will this record the video and save it for several months, but allow you to view the video real time from any computer in the world with internet access. With the DVR option you can also search past records of the video up to a month or two old. So you can, while out of town go to the computer and see what is happening now and also what happened yesterday or last week, or at night when no one is supposed to be there. You can also set the recorder to only record motion, so you won’t be bogged down with watching empty video waiting for something to happen.
