Anyone use their webcam as home surveillance?

Share

If so, what software do you use/recommend? After a quick search i have a few options:

TeboCam
YawCam
Home Camera
Yoics
WebCam Monitor
Dorgem

I will of course do more research. I just mainly want to see streaming video (snapshots/alerts optional) and record video. For PC.

Thanks in advance.

Webcam Zone Trigger does multiple webcams, motion detection and remote viewing with http. The motion detection is pretty cool because it uses hot spots, so you can really focus on the interesting parts of the image.

I would strongly recommend TeboCam – I use it every day.
I have heard rumours that it wil soon have multiple webcam functionality too.

TeboCam will not stream video however using the publish option you can publish pictures online at regular intervals – for instance refresh a picture every two seconds.

There again I am the developer so I am probably biased ;)

I use webcam XP. It has multiple camera and great alarm features.

I use WebCam Monitor. The software records on motion detection, and sends me email alerts and photos directly to my cell phone, supports live broadcast and more. Easy to use and reliable. Here is the website: http://www.deskshare.com/wcm.aspx
