Is it difficult to wire to power supply and is it worth the trouble?
I think I can do 6 camera 120 FPS total for about 1500 bucks total and install myself. Put it on a new PC and use monitor and wireless set up i already have.

HI, it is not difficult to wire power or to set up a PC home surveillance system.
1) You can use a PCI card to capture video from the cameras. This is installed inside the PC and draws power from the PC. You can also find USB devices which are even easier to install.
2) You use normal CCTV cameras and cable them using premade cables like at http://www.q5usa.com/products.asp?cat=27. These have connectors at each end to simply plug in to a power supply / wall socket.
It really is quite simple if you use the plug n play cables and they attach to normal plug in power supplies. It is worth the trouble when you start to find out what goes on when you are not around.
