Hi on 2/16/10 (Tuesday) my car was totaled by a hit and driver while it was parked outside my home.
I heard a loud crash and looked outside my bedroom window to only see the offender trying to pull off and hit my car again. I live a few homes down from a popular food chain store that had outdoor surveillance cameras. THe hit and run offenders pulled over directly in front of this store and were clearly seen on video checking the damage of the car. The video also shows they were holding up traffic (this was them trying to flee). They appeared to be a couple and after they checked out the damage they even stood awhile to argue with eachother. I personally viewed this footage with the permission of the manager. The manageradvised me he would make me a copy of the footage if I brought a dvd-r (which I did). Since then I have been getting the run around for the manager as if he has had a change of heart. I have directly asked him this and he says no but has been avoiding me and does not show the same interest in helping me. I have reached out to nypd and they have advised they dont investigate this my insurance company should get the surveillance video. What do I do now?
I called the insurance company and they advised the investigation is a police matter. They can only assist me once a plate # is received. Any ideas on what next?
Contact your insurance company, & tell them this…
I loved reading your weblog and I needed to let you know that I completely agree with you. It’s tough to seek out people who think alike these days. Stick with it
