I have a computer at work that has surveillance cameras.?

I want to create a streaming connection so I see the cameras as I do at work. How do I do this. I’ve been trying to create a VPN on my home computer but it doesn’t seem to be working.

This is highly unlikely to work. Your office probably does not allow inbound network connections from the Internet (which is what you’d be doing). Most office networks are partitioned. When you come from home and use a VPN to connect to your office, you aren’t -exactly- the same as if you were in the building. You can talk to -some- servers and computers, but not all the same ones.

Here’s what you do. Talk to your IT guy at your office. Tell him you want to use remote desktop or GoToMyPC to do some work after hours or on the weekends. Ask him if he can help you get that set up. If he does help you, you’re home free. You’ll be able to see your screen at your computer at your desk even when you are at home. Use this excuse to get your IT people helping you. They’ll be more effective than a bunch of Yahoos. :)
