Are you looking for both indoor and outdoor surveillance, or just one or the other?
Will anyone else be monitoring the system?
How will you get alarms if you are not at your laptop?

You gotta get the REVO 4 channel camera system it’s like $649 online but inside Costco my parents payed $499.99. I recommend these to everyone they are better picture/pixle quality than LOREX which are more known, but they have like 2 or 3 wires and each camera i noticed on the Costco display of the two systems, LOREX connectors come loose easily, and REVO is one plug like ethernet….. I was a big fan of LOREX and there wireless camera CCTV camera system was nice; but it can be picked up since it puts out a 2.4 GHZ signal and in bad weather you would be washed out………plane and simple the REVO 4-8 camera system has one yes one ethernet type plug each camera and was super e-z to screw up the camera’s first then run the wire with the cable stapler (home depot) and bling, i mean e-z plug and play plus it comes with the software to watch from Laptop with up to 64 different DVR’s all at one time yes 64 systems, i looked at the software it’s definatly pro stuff and plug and play. The 8 camera system is around $800-$1200 depending if you get the monitor or not oh and it has great night vision in pure darkness. GOOGLE: REVO camera system.
